Quad Fest is here ! It’s time again to depict our Indian culture, Colors through Henna tattoos… We are planning even to extend it further more by teaching the art of henna (“mehandi”) tattooing to our friends and conduct competitions among new learners.
This year, we are also planning to conduct games like “Fun Facts Bowl”

Ice-Breakers are the new comer’s day! It gives them an opportunity to meet and learn more about current student and alums help them with their questions, and most importantly having a fun time. This fall was made more exciting with games like show-pair-finder-game and Comment-my-first-expression.

A Snowy Spring Ice-Breakers has just passed welcoming new students to ISU and ISA. It was a fun filled evening with lots of games lined up to “break” the ice.

We don’t miss playing Holi in the Quad even though the weather is pretty bad. This is definitely a lot of fun. The temperatures was pretty bad this time too, but we did not miss on our fun. Luckily it did not snow. The best part of this year was going to Irving and pulling everyone out!

The highlight of India Night 2011 was definitely our play – Simran weds Raj. The play included dancing, comedy scenes, and showcasing some cultural rituals. We had many students from different backgrounds participating in this event. Our American and other international friends wore Indian dress, danced and walked the ramp. MCIA also participated in this event and gave some tradition...
Bhangra Night was held in February this year and was a fun time for all students who participates. We held the event at Prairie Room in the Bone Student Center and had a DJ come from Chicago to play some Punjabi music. Members of MCIA also attended this event.

International Fair 2011 was the most successful year we have had. Our dishes were a big hit and we have served food close to 300 people on that day. International Fair was held in February this year at Brown Ball Room in the Bone Student Center. Our dishes included Butter Chicken, Chickpeas Curry, Rice, Chat (Bhel Puri), Samosa and Mango Lassi.

We celebrated Diwali this year for the last time in our favorite place Cardinal Court. We have arranged catering from an Indian restaurant called Little India in Bloomington for all our friends. We had almost all the current students attend this event. We had a puja and a wonderful dinner. This is one of the gathering’s which makes ISA Home away from Home for us.
